Over-night Wilderness Lodge Package

Day 1
Depart Homer at 6 pm for an evening spent at Hideaway Cove Wilderness Lodge. Enjoy a private, ocean-front cabin completely surrounded by Kachemak Bay State Park. You can also relax in the main lodge, sit on the viewing deck, relax in the cedar sauna, or stroll the rocky beaches.
Day 2
After breakfast, enjoy a guided day trip; hiking and kayaking at a pristine, glacier-carved lake. Kayak among the ice bergs, enjoy the breathtaking beauty and enjoy lunch overlooking the magnificent glacier. Hike back to the lodge and return to Homer by boat in the late afternoon.

Two-night Wilderness Lodge Package
(Check-in on Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
Day 1
Enjoy a late afternoon departure to Hideaway Cove, arriving at the Lodge after a scenic 30-minute boat ride. After a tour of the grounds, guests can relax in their cabin, the main lodge, out on the viewing deck, or stroll the rocky beaches.
Day 2
After breakfast in the lodge, enjoy a full day of hiking and kayaking at a nearby glacier. A 2-mile hike through a coastal forest, brings us to a pristine glacier-carved lake. After the hike, paddle a stable sea kayak around mammoth icebergs and along the rugged shores of the lake. Explore and photograph the virgin landscape at the face of the glacier while learning first hand about the incredible power of moving ice. After lunch, hike back to Hideaway Cove Lodge. In the evening, enjoy a hearty dinner at the lodge. After dinner, walk the rocky shoreline, relax in the lodge, or unwind in the wood-fired sauna.

Day 3
Guests can choose to relax around the lodge or hike up a maintained State Park trail to the alpine tundra. The 360 degree views are spectacular. On a clear day, you will enjoy the views of endless mountain peaks, immense glaciers, snow-capped volcanoes and the crystal waters of Kachemak Bay. If you've never seen alpine tundra, don't miss this chance. Hike back to the lodge and return to Homer by boat around 6:00 p.m.

After a relaxing morning at the lodge, embark on a guided sea-kayak tour of historic Halibut Cove. You will be awestruck by the beauty and history of this remote corner of Alaska. Snow-capped mountains, sea cliffs, and marine wildlife are all enjoyed from the comfort of your stable sea kayak. The tour also takes you through the quaint community of Halibut Cove "where the streets are paved with water." You will hear interesting stories of this historic place, and if time and tides permit, visit Alaska's only floating coffee shop. In addition to the kayaking, you also go beach combing on a remote pebble beach. After the tour, return to the lodge for dinner and relaxing. This trip includes 2-3 hours kayaking and 1 hour of walking.

Five-night Wilderness Lodge Package
Trip includes 3 nights at Hideaway Cove Wilderness Lodge and 2 nights at Hallo Bay, a bear viewing and research camp in Katmai National Park.
Please note that Hallo Bay Camp is an ecologically managed facility within Katmai National Park. To minimize any impact on the bears, they have kept the facility simple, and low impact. It is not a "lodge" with respect to frills, but you will be well taken care of. The experienced guides at the camp will make sure you have the most incredible and enriching experience with the Alaskan brown bear. (at safe distances of course!!)

Day 4 After breakfast, depart Hideaway Cove Lodge to Homer where you will be transferred to your air-taxi(bush plane). It is a one hour flight to Hallo Bay Bear Camp. You will be held in awe of the magnificent panorama throughout the flight. You will be greeted by camp staff and given a thorough Bear Safety Orientation by your naturalist Guides. Then walk at a leisurely pace, stopping often at nearby salmon streams, or food rich meadows depending on the time of your visit. When you come upon bears, you will observe and photograph them in a manner so as not to disturb them. In the evening, enjoy a hearty, family style supper prepared by the chef. After supper, you can lounge around the galley discussing the days adventures with other guests, look over your photos on your laptop, or just relax with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate. Then fall asleep to the sounds of the evening song birds, light breeze and the incoming tides. This day includes 4-5 hours of moderate walking
 Day 5 A full day guided walk to the south of the Camp where there is a very interesting tidal lagoon. There are great views of the area's glaciers, volcanoes, brown bears, moose, shorebirds, waterfowl, and nesting bald eagles. The lagoon is excellent bear habitat in all seasons, providing both succulent sedges and salmon runs. The beach combing in this area is also incredible. Japanese glass net floats, old shipwreck debris, thousands of beached logs, whale bones, and countless other objects are stacked against the sand dunes. Hike back to the camp and relax, rest, read, or visit. This day includes 8-9 hours of moderate walking
Day 6 The final morning, enjoy breakfast, pack your gear prior to check out and departure. Arrival back in Homer is usually around noon.
